Get To Know – Ebony

Beauty, Fashion, Lifestyle

1. Tell us about your beautiful self. Who is Ebony Louise?
I am a young mum to my 6 month old daughter, Ava Jayde, and a qualified beauty therapist. I live in the beautiful Gold Coast city and have my entire life – I don’t think I could ever move!

2. If we asked you to describe your style in 3 words, what would those 3 words be?
The 3 words that best describe my style would be: simple, feminine and on-trend.

3. What inspired you to start blogging?
Growing up, my friends and family would always ask me what I did to make my skin look so good, how my hair looked so healthy or where I got my clothes from. I started seeing other people blog, and write about the things they loved the most, so I thought why not start sharing what I love with everyone?! And because I loved writing it went hand in hand.

4. How did you get into Beauty Therapy and why?
I got into beauty therapy because it was a career I had dreamed of pursuing since I was a little girl. I started my course a few months before I fell pregnant and while working as a receptionist at a small Salon. Although I’m a stay at home mum currently – I eventually hope to finish my Diploma in Business Management so I can run my own beauty salon.

5. As a young mum to the gorgeous Ava Jayde, how do you juggle everything!?
I’ll be honest, I am so exhausted. My life, both work & personal, have changed so much in the past year and it’s really hard to juggle everything. I am still getting used to this whole mummy thing. So I make the most out of the time I do get, I think outside the ‘9-5’ box and I also ask for help when I need it which was something I’ve learnt over the past month. I love what I do and I will always make some sort of time for it.

6. As we see on all your Insta posts, you’re a big advocate for natural products. Why do you think this is so important?
I guess working in the beauty industry and studying it taught me a lot about what was good for our skin and what wasn’t aswell as what was actually in all of the ‘good products’ & brands on the shelves. It grossed me out so much. If you were to read what ingredients where in most common skincare, food & beauty products – you’d be shocked at how many of them you aren’t familiar with or have never heard about, which 99.9% of the time are a whole load of chemicals. Our bodies weren’t made to consume or use such harsh ingredients, and over time they can cause a lot of damage. By switching to natural and/or organic, your body will thank you for it.

7. Give us an idea about a typical day in the life of Ebony. Ava can’t always be as cute as she is in photos, right?
A day in my life is always different! Everyday I learn something new, everyday I find myself doing something new or trying something new and I guess I have motherhood to thank for that. I wouldn’t change it for the world though!

8. If you could give the women reading this one piece of advice, what would it be?
Have the courage to live a true life to yourself and not the life others expect of you. Don’t live a life based on other people’s opinions, be 100% you and only you!

9. Head to our online store and tell me what your favourite item is at the moment and why!
My favourite item currently would have to be the Satin Dreams Slip Dress in Champagne. It’s just so hot where I live currently and I think this would be the cutest & comfiest outfit to wear on any occasion seeing as you can either dress it up or down!

10. Why do you love being a part of Blush Babes?
I love being a part of such an amazing, empowering group of beautiful women that work together to support, love & build each other up. These gals are literally like my online best friends and I adore every one of them!
